MJM Contemporary collage art
My handmade collage art a mixture of Pop Art, Synthetic Cubism, and Surrealism. Influences include Stuart Davis, Paul Klee, Max Ernst, to name a few. Imaginary bold environments are created using vintage paper (50– 100 years old), book jackets and interiors, yardsticks, and cigar boxes, adhered to masonite or acid-free Crescent board. Blemishes, stains, wear, hand-written signatures and scribbles are left in place to remind the viewer of the materials’ past life.
